Hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers at Dr Munroe Clinic, from Teoxane's RHA range, restore volume that has been lost or add definition where it was never there, across the lips, cheeks and mid-face, tear trough, chin, jawline, folds around the mouth, and for non-surgical nose reshaping (also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty). The change is visible straight away and the final result settles over two to four weeks, and filler is often planned alongside skin regeneration, as the two address different concerns.

who it's for.

Fillers may suit hollowing under the eyes or through the cheeks, a chin that sits back or a jawline that has lost definition, and lips that have thinned. Non-surgical nose reshaping may suit a bump or a drooping tip; although filler cannot make the nose smaller, sculpting the nose can make it more balanced and even appear smaller.

Where the concern is texture or crepiness, skin regeneration is usually more appropriate, and lines caused by expression respond to anti-wrinkle injections.

Dr Munroe's background in facial surgery means we can advise when surgical intervention may be a more realistic option, and through our concierge service we can introduce you to a surgeon we trust.

how they combine.

Most plans begin with support, often in the cheeks and mid-face, as folds lower in the face and hollows under the eyes frequently reflect lost support above them. Smaller areas follow, in small amounts, with a review before anything further is added. How long filler lasts varies with the area, the product and the individual, and a range for each area is given at consultation.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed, and the clinic holds the reversal agent on site.

what fillers are.

Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin, that has been cross-linked so that it holds its shape and lasts in the tissue rather than being absorbed within days. The degree of cross-linking, together with the concentration and the way the gel is made, determines how firm, how stretchy and how spreadable a filler is, which clinicians describe with measures such as G prime. A firmer gel suits the chin and jawline, where it needs to hold projection; a softer, more adaptable gel suits the lips and the tear trough, where the tissue moves. Teoxane's RHA range is designed to adapt to movement, which is why it is used here.
